SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL

Did you know that:

When snow or ice fall, City of Williamstown Public Works Department crew work 12-hour shifts to clear snow and ice from our city streets.

City of Williamstown has over 5 snow plows working to clear the roadways and uses approximately 400 tons of salt per year!

The City of Williamstown also uses a pro-active approach to winter storms through a process of applying anti-icing materials prior to an imminent storm!

Snow removal from streets is determined by the severity of the snow or ice.

The department has a priority of streets that will receive road salt in the event of a heavy snow or ice storm.

These streets are arterial, or collector streets are critical for public safety.
